13 - 18 Summer Camp
13-18 Summer Camp will be held at Purley Chase Centre in August. It is held at the same time as the 9-13 camp at Wellspring House. This year it will be held from Sunday 2nd August 2026 – Saturday 8th August 2026. It is for young people who have been in Years 8 – 13 at school this year.
During the day, there are sessions in the morning where we have discussion and activities based on a Bible story. More information about the theme for the week will be available soon – watch this space!
For 2025, the theme of Summer Camp 2025 was Earth Wind, Air and Fire, and the sessions in the mornings were based on this theme. Read more about this camp here.
Social activities
In the afternoons, we do lots of different things! Purley Chase has amazing grounds, so we play games of volleyball in addition to plenty of other activities. Purley has a games room where we can play table tennis and pool. Above all, we make sure there is something that suits everyone.
Trip!
There will be a big outing one day. For 2026 the trip hasn’t yet been decided as the leaders like to consult with the young people in between them booking and the camp itself happening. Recent trips have included: a visit to an amazing inflatable Aqua Park at Cliff Lakes; swinging through the treetops at Go Ape at Coombe Abbey, Warwick Castle, and a day out at Drayton Manor theme park so there are many activities that could be chosen from!

Leadership Team for 13-18 Summer Camp 2026

Hi, I’m Rob.
For the last 20+ years I’ve been attending Summer Camps at Purley Chase – first as a young person and later as a leader.
I really enjoy giving young people the opportunity to create great memories and to learn important teachings they can take into their daily lives.
I work remotely as a Software Engineer from my home in Fife, Scotland where I live with my wife Sam and my dog Hallie (a miniature labradoodle)
When I’m not working, I’m usually out walking Hallie, or fighting a losing to battle to stay fit and active by playing tennis or doing challenge walks.
I’m probably most happy when I’m in and around water, be it paddleboarding, or swimming in the freezing cold waters which Scotland has to offer.

Hello, I’m Andy.
I’ve been helping at Summer Camps at Purley since 1991, which might seem a lifetime ago, and I don’t think I’ve missed a year except during the Covid outbreak.
For the last 20 or so years, I have been teaching Physics at a school in Bath.
When not in the laboratory devising fiendishly complicated quantum mechanics experiments, I can be found out and about training DofE Expedition groups in the Mendips, on Exmoor or Dartmoor. Dartmoor is a home from home and my family – that is my wife and two children who are now 9 – enjoy many a holiday tramping the moors looking for “letterboxes”.

I’m Lynne, a big Sunderland AFC and Disney fan. I also love musicals and of course chocolate! Having worked with young people as a volunteer they played a big role in me choosing to become a minister – I enjoy trying to find new ways to engage young people with the Word and to have fun whilst doing so!
I think young people probably teach me more than I teach them so it’s a privilege to spend time with them. It’s also a guarantee that most of the time there’s chocolate when I’m around so win win!!

Hi, I’m Jenny. I’ve been involved in the New Church all my life and have been a Youth leader for about 9 years. I am also a primary school teacher (although I work in a secondary school) and one of my favourite places in the world is Purley Chase.
The most important (and best part of my job) is helping to bring children, young adults and families together to have fun, learn together and laugh together. I love to see everyone making new friends and catching up with old friends too. In my spare time I like to read, spend time with friends (preferably drinking tea and eating cake!) and watch and sing along to musicals.
