Kildwick New Church Centre is a residential centre housed in the old church building. It has two rooms with bunks beds and two rooms for leaders.
There is a large room for group activities, and downstairs there is a kitchen and dining room.
Kildwick is self-catering, so those attending residentials here will join in with helping to clear up after meals.

Location

The Centre is located midway between Keighley and Skipton on the quiet outskirts of the village of Kildwick in Airedale.  The address is: Main Road, Kildwick, North Yorkshire, BD20 9BD

There are excellent footpaths near the River Aire which passes the centre and the Leeds Liverpool canal runs through the village. Nearby there is woodland, moorland, farmland making it ideal for interesting walks for all abilities.

Kildwick village boasts a Parish Church reputed to have the longest aisle in the England. The White Lion pub serves meals and has an outdoor garden. There is a bus service from Kildwick to Skipton and Keighley.

A 5 minute car ride away is the adjoining village of Crosshills where there is a CO-OP petrol station (with food shop), Post Office, health centre a variety of shops.

Accommodation

Kildwick Centre provides hostel style, self-catering accommodation for 20 people in 2 eight-bunk dormitories and 2 twin bunk rooms. Blanket and pillows are provided, but please bring your own sleeping bag or sheets and a pillow slip.

The large lounge can be adapted for meetings or indoor games by the layout of comfortable chairs and tables.

On the lower ground floor, there is a separate dining room which overlooks the river and gives access to the large grassed play area. The dining room can also function as another activity room. The fully equipped kitchen is next to the dining room.

There are 2 separate washing rooms, each having a toilet, shower and wash basin.

Parking is available outside the Kildwick Centre on the roadside and also in the village.

How to reach the Kildwick Centre

By CAR:      Kildwick New Church Centre is easily reached as the Aire Valley Trunk Road stops at the roundabout 100 metres away. Whether coming from Keighley or the Skipton direction – use the A629.

By BUS:      Whether coming from Keighley or the Skipton direction, use the DALESWAY bus 66, which stops at Station Road, Crosshills, a 10 minute walk away, but use the subway to cross the busy A629 roundabout.

By TRAIN:    Whether coming from the Keighley or Skipton train stations, you can get off at STEETON, then walk up the hill to the traffic lights at the Keighley-Skipton road, where there is a bus stop on the far side for the DALESWAY bus 66 to Kildwick. Then follow the instructions in the BUS paragraph.

Alternatively, you can get off at CONONLEY, then take a taxi from the nearby Taxi company office, or walk 15 minutes along Cononley Lane to the junction with the Keighley-Skipton road, where there is a bus stop on the far side for the DALESWAY bus 66 to Kildwick. Then follow the instructions in the BUS paragraph.
