Volunteer Leaders
Volunteers are recruited via a Safer Recruiting process, which involves having two references and a DBS check. Safeguarding training would be provided, plus training in other areas.
There is no pay for this role, but reasonable travel expenses could be paid for by prior agreement. Bed (or rather, futon) and board are provided.
This is an opportunity to build your CV, as well as having a fantastic time providing social activities for the young people and assist with catering.
To volunteer, please download and complete the attached form. Under “Role”, please put “Volunteer Leader on Residentials”. Once completed, please send it and a signed copy of the Volunteer Job Role Document to the address on the form and the rest of the process will follow.
Volunteer Leaders
There are various roles that you can take as a volunteer leader. If you have good knowledge of the topic, you would be very welcome to help lead sessions or create activities to illustrate them. People who like arts and crafts are particularly welcome to apply!
As we have times of games and sporting activities, being willing to suggest games we play and taking a role in leading them is a fantastic way to engage with the young people. You don’t need to be an expert – just be willing to have a go.
At some camps we do our own cooking and washing up. When you join the team, you may like help with the rota for clearing up after meals, and engage with the young people as they undertake this task. Believe it or not, washing up can create a real sense of teamwork and help the kids to bond. Some groups bring along their speakers and dance while they are doing it.
The main qualities we would be looking for are a willingness to join in and be part of the team. Please get in touch if you would like more information, or download the application form below.
